KIRK FRANKLIN TO PERFORM AT SERENA HOTEL

Gospel music award-winning artiste Kirk Franklin will perform at Kampala Serena Hotel and Lugogo Criket Oval respectively.
The show that has been moved from May 9 to May 22 and 24, with an entrance fee of sh50,000 (VIP) for the Serena VIP show and sh25,000 for the Lugogo show.

All proceeds from the Serena VIP show will go to the African Children’s Choir, which has been around for almost 24 years and is tasked with helping Africa’s most vulnerable.

According to the African Children’s Choir spokesperson Abraham Kiyingi, the Proceeds from the show will help the choir put up a dormitory at their premises in Entebbe.

RAMA P LAUNCHES ALBUM AT REVIERA HOTEL HOIMA

Rama P, a western artist remembered for his 2006 hit single Guma Abwoli,will launch his Album weekend with two concerts in western Uganda.

The seven-track album will be launched at Victory Dijja pub in Masindi town today and another at Reviera Hotel in Hoima town on Sunday. Entrance fee for both shows is sh5,000.

The artist who has earned a Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) Award in the Western Artiste-of-The-Year category, was described as “the most promising revelation from western Uganda.”

The shows will have guest artistes including Sylvia Namugenyi,Raga Ben, David Lutalo and Tickie Tah.

AFRICANA HOTEL HOSTS ROTATRY FUNDRAISING

Over sh22m has been raised by the Rotary Club of Kampala East for the construction of classrooms at St. Kizito Primary School in Wakiso district.

The funds which will be used to construct 2 classrooms was raised during a fundraising dinner at the Hotel. The school with 344 pupils, has only five classrooms and other pupils study under trees.

Other companies that contributed to the project included Charles Mbire who contributed sh3m, Sudhir Ruperelia, Housing Finance Company, Uganda Baati, Nilecom Ltd, Civil Aviation Authority, Bank of Uganda and Prime Media.
