The Band has brought in several people from different neighbouring countries including Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania, while some have been know to come from as far as Zimbabwe and Zambia, who have booked hotels in large numbers for the night’s accommodation
During their three-decade long career, they have been performing sell-out shows worldwide and headlining the Reggae Sun splash Music Festival in Jamaica, as well as spreading reggae to Russia and South America, among others.
UB40’s most successful single release is the cover of the Elvis Presley ballad (I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You, which was a number one hit across Europe and the US, and is still a popular hit in Uganda.
UB40’s early music has often tackled social issues such as racism and unemployment.
Despite the high cost of tickets which range from 300,000/= for Gold members, 120,000/= for the Silver and 25,00/= for the Bronze, many people have flocked into the country for the Show.
