Uganda Hotels and lodges will soon increase rates for 2008.
The hotels increase accommodation rates as well as facility rates, food, gym facilities and other services in order to compete with the new existing markets, as well as cater for the increasing market of clientèle.
The rates are expected to cover lodges, inns, hotels, lodges and all other accommodation facilities.

The festive season is already being prepared for by the accommodation facilities in Uganda including hotels, lodges and apartments.
Hotels including Imperial Hotels, Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Serena Hotel, Jinja Nile resort, Hotel Africana and others are creating seasonal offers, by reducing prices (Special Christmas and New Year’s rates) in order to encourage the use of accommodation facilities by both locals and foreigners including tourists.
Special and memorable holiday package to guests are being offered in order to attract tourists and other service consumers to various destinations. Christmas offers for hotel bookings and Christmas activities for visitors have been organized. These include Discos, Father Christmas parties, children parties, Buffets and cultural performances. The Christmas and New Year’s package includes a full American Buffet Breakfast, welcome drinks, Lunch on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve Dinner with Complimentary Local Daily Newspaper, Access Health clubs and Internet facilities.

Queen Elizabeth National park located in south-western Uganda, is a home to a diversity of birds with over 550 species, creating the largest birders’ Paradise, of any protected area in Africa.
The park will soon have new luxury lodges due to the increase of visitors who require accommodation during their stay.
The 2 separate lodges are being constructed by Acacia safaris under the Managing Director Mrs. Tumusiime Connie and Brovad tours and Travel under the Managing Director Mr. Kiyimba Rashid.
The lodges will support the increasing demand for accommodation in the park, as visitor numbers sore in the country due to the development of the tourism sector.
Queen Elizabeth National park has a lake shore lines of the 2 main lakes George and Edward being channeled by the mighty Kazinga Channel congregate thousands of hippos, and makes a dwelling for Elephants, Lions, and Leopards, big herds of buffaloes, the Uganda Kob, and many others.

The just concluded Common wealth heads of Government meeting (CHOGM) benefited several employees of Hotel Africana with Incentives.
Management appreciated its staff with bonus of doubled salary for the month of November and also compensated them with Shs50,000 for transport incurred by each worker during the hectic period.
The hotel which hosted the Commonwealth People’s Forum (CPF) between November 17 and 24, was also honoured to have high profile guests like Prince Charles and the Prime Minister of New Zealand during the common wealth period.

Kampala Serena Hotel was delighted to recently (20 – 25 November 2007) host HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh during their 4-day visit to Uganda.
The Hotel, owned and operated by the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, is a world-class hotel with an inspirational blend of 5-star polish and pan-African panache with 152-rooms. Besides hosting the Royal couple and their entourage, the Kampala Serena Hotel also hosted events for the Royal House Hold
including banquets, media receptions and luncheons. The highlight was the Heads of States dinner hosted by HM the Queen at the hotels fine dining Pearl of Africa Restaurant.
The State Suite, which has now been renamed the Royal Suite has a luxurious king-sized bed, balcony, a large walk-in closet, massive bathroom, a kitchen and a
living area with a plush lounge, dining and study area and is filled with orchids - rumoured to be one of the Queen’s favorites.
Her Majesty personally thanked the staff and chefs who had accorded impeccable service to the Queens household before leaving the hotel.
