Kampala Serena Hotel was delighted to recently (20 – 25 November 2007) host HM Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh during their 4-day visit to Uganda.
The Hotel, owned and operated by the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development, is a world-class hotel with an inspirational blend of 5-star polish and pan-African panache with 152-rooms. Besides hosting the Royal couple and their entourage, the Kampala Serena Hotel also hosted events for the Royal House Hold
including banquets, media receptions and luncheons. The highlight was the Heads of States dinner hosted by HM the Queen at the hotels fine dining Pearl of Africa Restaurant.
The State Suite, which has now been renamed the Royal Suite has a luxurious king-sized bed, balcony, a large walk-in closet, massive bathroom, a kitchen and a
living area with a plush lounge, dining and study area and is filled with orchids - rumoured to be one of the Queen’s favorites.
Her Majesty personally thanked the staff and chefs who had accorded impeccable service to the Queens household before leaving the hotel.
