Security has been stepped up at Hotels hosting the commonwealth heads of government and dignitaries.
Hotels including Protea Hotel, Imperial royale, Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Grand imperial hotel, Kampala Serena Hotel and many other hotels have stepped up security measures during the commonwealth meeting. Both the Military Police and the regular army stepped in, taking up the protection of major hotels.
At the Serena Hotel, where the opening ceremony of the summit will take place, impeccably dressed military men patrolled the fence, while others manned the main
gate, searching people.
The Hotels that have under-gone inspection and security checks are ensuring that dignitaries are safe during their stay.
