PEOPLE’S SPACE FORUM AT AFRICANA HOTEL

The Commonwealth People’s Space meeting was opened at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
The space, opened by the Vice-President, Prof. Gilbert Bukenya, was attended by several Ugandans, gave people a chance to freely air their views and write down the issues they want the heads of state to address. The meeting set up to allow interactive and lively discussions and to provide movies and films that provoke debate will see some opinions pinned on ‘The Wall of Greatness’ which is located at the Jinja Road round-about.
Over 10,000 people are expected to attend the people’s space, including students and local and international artists with topics including environment, gender equality,education and the engagement of the youth in development.
Bukenya said he was excited by the exhibitions and assured Ugandans that he would advise the Government to keep the Space open for a longer time after the summit. He also pinned up a message saying: “Changing peasant lifestyle through practical ways of earning and saving incomes and transforming their ways of living.”
