CLINICS FOR CHOGM HOTELS

Small clinics will be set up in hotels and conference rooms ahead of Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM)

The clinics to be manned by consultants will provide first aid and emergency medical care during the CHOGM. An Emergency medical team of 300 professionals from Mulago, Kololo, St. John Ambulance, Nsambya, Red Cross Society, Mengo, Rubaga and Kibuli hospitals are undergoing training at Mulago Hospital, to handle cases and emergencies during the CHOGM.

The medical team will handle shortness of breath, snake and insect bites, chocking, chest pain, bone and joint conditions, near drowning, diabetic emergencies and altered mental state (coma).

13 BILLION FOR HOTEL DEAL

Sh13.3b was recently paid by Government as its contribution to a joint venture with Meera Investment to construct a hotel at munyonyo.

The “Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Ltd” will host presidents during the commonwealth Head of government Meeting (CHOGM) in November will have 59 Presidential Suites to accommodate the dignitaries.

The money amounts to 25% of the Government’s contribution towards a joint venture with Meera Investments owned by hotel mogul Sudhir Ruparelia.
