US $ 300 FOR HOSPITALITY SECTOR

Government has invested US $300 into the Hospitality industry in order to prepare for Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting (CHOGM).
According to Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), that over $105 million has been invested into the accommodation and Catering industry.The facilities are being renovated, up-graded as well as refurbished to meet international standards.
Hotel owners were also granted a special tax facility, with respect to taxes on materials and equipment sourced from abroad as an incentive.
Hotels to host the Commonwealth meeting including Serena Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Hotel Africana, Speke Resort Munyonyo, Bwebajja Hotel, Imperial Royale and the Hilton Hotel were inspected by a team from the commonwealth Secretariat. 4000 hotel rooms are required to host the 57 Heads of state who will be in the country in November, to attend the CHOGM.
