Hotels in Masaka have joined other companies to sponsor the Masaka rally.
The rally will start with a super special stage at Nabugabo Sand Beach on Saturday ahead of the second leg that will cover eight sections in Masaka on Sunday.
The participants include M. Jamal (Subaru), I. Nyanzi (Subaru), D. Ashraf (Subaru), R. Kavuma (Subaru), S. Ssemuju (Subaru), L. Bagarukayo (Subaru), E. Mungereza (Toyota Levin), A. Katungi (Subaru), B. Widow (Subaru), A. Minjo (Corona), A. Kaweesa (Celica), M. Sanya (Subaru), B. Koyesiga (Celica), R. Kidibya (Mitsubishi), B. Roberts (Ford), J. Lugayizi (Trueno), A. Ssempebwa (Subaru), V. Kibude (Mirage), M. Katongole (Mazda), S. Muwonge (Subaru), F. Tezikuba (Subaru), P. Lwakataka (Subaru) and R. Ssebuguzi (Mitsubishi).
Hotels that have sponsored the rally include Hotel Brovad, Hotel Zebra, Tropic Inn and Vienna Hotel. Other sponsors include Petro Old Port Bell road, Buddu FM, Masaka District Council, Nabugabo Sand Beach, Katumwa Sports Centre and Radio CBS.

Kampala Serena Hotel has acquired a new Italian chef.
Mauro Portaluppi is a graduate from the Instituto Professionale Alberghiero Carlo Porta with a 16 year cooking experience in star-rated Hotel and restaurant kitchens. The specialty chef will prepare traditional cuisines of South Italy for lunch and supper.

Enterprise Uganda has been contracted by the Ugandan government, to train hoteliers in basic communication and information technology ahead of CHOGM.
The training is aimed at boosting the skills of hoteliers in computerized billing during the summit. The Summit will take place in November 2007.

Uganda Hoteliers have been cautioned against abusing incentives offered by the Government.
Hotel developers have been offered several incentives like tax waivers on building materials and other items. The Bid was by government to enable Hoteliers provide modern and adequate accommodation for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) delegates.
The Hoteliers were cautioned by Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) .

The Commonwealth resort at Munyonyo will be completed by August.
The CHOGM facility is equipped with 59 suites, recreation areas, banquet halls, business centers and conference facilities.
The facility will host several delegates who will attend the commonwealth meeting in November 2007.
