HOTELS INVITED TO PLAN 150SQ METRE STAND AT BIT MILAN

Uganda will soon attend the BIT Milan 2007 exhibition, which will attract over 5,000 exhibitors, and all stakeholders in Uganda have been invited.

Tourism Uganda is soliciting for ideas on how to prepare and design the 150sq metre free stand which was given to Uganda after being won by Tourism Uganda in a raffle last year.
The show that will take place from February 22 to 25 in Milan at Rho Pero, will include over 46,000 travellers from over 120 countries. It will also feature 100,000 professional visitor contacts and about 1,600 exhibitors from overseas will also be present.

Uganda is designing a magazine “Gifted by Nature” showing Uganda’s unique attractions and features.

Uganda will have an opportunity to showcase the country’s products to the world, and to Celebrities, celebrities and fashion houses including Armani, Prada, D&G, Gucci which will exhibit during the fashion week.

INVESTMENTS TO INCLUDE HOTELS

Southern Sudan government (GOSS) will soon establish investments in Uganda which will also include Hotels.

The investment and trade opportunities offered to Ugandans are to be coordinated by Alkebulan Investment and Promotions. These will be accredited by the Sudanese Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Supplies with an aim to help Ugandan investors explore opportunities in southern Sudan.

The Investments are through a company headed by Mabior Garang, former Southern Sudan President Dr. John Garang’s son.

EMIN PASHA HOTEL MANAGER DEAD

Emin Pasha manager Amos Oburo is dead.

Emin Pasha, one of Kampala’s best hotels is a 5 star hotel, and its here that Amos Oburo worked as manager. The Hotel is designed with “a dash of personality, and a splash of colour” with several facilities to suite leisure and business travellers.

The Hotel industry has lost a brave and hardworking personality.
May his soul rest ineternal peace.

CHOPE SAFARI LODGE FOR UPGRADING

The Chope Safari lodge will soon begin its upgrading.

The Lodge which is located in Murchison falls National park, will be developed by the Madhvani Group will be developed into a world class facility with better services, accommodation and provisions.

The Upgrading will start with 5 million US $ which has been put aside for the rennovation, and the lodge will be restored to its former prestigeous look.

3,500 WORKERS TO BE TRAINED FOR CHOGM

The Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Jinja is to train 3,500 workers ahead of chogm.

3,soo workers are to be trained for Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting next year inorder to provide upscale and international services to the common wealth guests who will be in the country in November 2007. The entourage will include the Queen of England, Elizabeth II.
