The Sheraton Kampala Hotel recently unveiled seven new suites.
The Parksquare suites a major milestone in its refurbishment drive are on the third floor of the hotel building. These are complete apartments with laundry facilities, ironing sections, a mini bar and kitchen. Each of the double occupancy bedroom suites costs $1200 per night. Management intends to make the rooms double glazed to counter the noise from Kampala city centre.
The suites are part of a total $25 million renovation drive that the hotel management undertook, starting about two years ago. The guests, however, have the options of cooking their own meals or ordering from the hotel restaurant. The interior design is a soft and neat design of quality craftsmanship.
The Sheraton Kampala general manager, Mr Jawaid Akhtar said that before the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled for September next year, the hotel will have completed the building of a night club called Equator Night Club and four presidential suites. Entrance to the night club will be through membership while all the guests of the hotel will be free to attend. There will also be a restaurant, African Paradise.
