Government recently gave land to Aya Group to construct a five star hotel. The group has five companies namely Fifi Transport Ltd, Pan Afric Commodities Ltd, a milling company, AYA Biscuits Ltd, AYA Bakery Ltd and AYA Investment Ltd.

During an interview, Aya Group Executive Chairman Mohamed Mohamed Hamid said that the hotel will creat over 2,000 jobs. The hotel will host big conferences by providing international standard facilities and it is also going to change the face of Kampala and will be like a landmark to Uganda.
The hotel will be paying more than $5million (Shs9.2b) in taxes and increasing per year for the so many years it will be in existence.

Hamid also said that they had chosen a number one architect and consultant in the world in the hotel industry. The Operator (Hilton) is also number one with over 2,750 hotels worldwide.
