Several Uganda hotels were amongst the achivers who received awards at the Presidential Transformer Awards ceremony that took place at Speke Resort Munyonyo on Friday.

President Yoweri Museveni handed over plaques of recognition to the winners who included the Imperial Group of Hotels, and the runners-up Speke Resort and Country Lodge, the ceremony hosts.

Other winners included Veteran telecaster Bbale Francis who took the award in the media category, Kampala International Hospital (healthStanbic Bank (banking),MTN (communications), St. Lawrence schools (education), the Uganda Women’s Efforts to Save Orphans (UWESO), Nile Plywoods (furniture,Mukwano Group (household items manufacturers) and Jesa Diaries (farming).

The annual ceremony is intended to recognise people and institutions that have transformed Uganda in the economic, social, and cultural fields since 1986.It is designed to become a commemoration for heroes, especially outside politics and the military
