THE East African Community (EAC) is to launch a campaign to promote the region as a tourist destination.
Dr Nyamajeje Weggoro, an economist with the community said that the launch would take place during between 14th and 17th November in London
Dr Nyamajeje met reporters at Hotel Africana in Kampala, one of uganda’s hotels.The launch will be attended by Officials from the region’s three tourist boards and the EAC Secretariat,officials from the UK government and East Africans.This is with an aim of promoting tourism in uganda and globaly.

There are plans by East African countries of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania to join the common market for East and Southern Africa as a single East African state.
This was revealed Mr. Denis Manana during the 10th annual seminar of Institute of Certified Public Accounts of Uganda at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel in Entebbe, one of Uganda hotels.
Uganda and Kenya members of COMESA, and Tanzania a member of SADCA
Will all have to disengage from their current membership in the organizations.
Having different regional trade blocs has been said to hamper trade development within East Africa, through terms of free movement of goods a people, labour, services and capital, thus hindering development.
The measure will enhance international markets and relationships, monetary integration, focus on measures that urge growth of the productive sectors and development of supply in industry, agriculture, natural resources, infrastructure and tourism in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

A new website www.kenya-accommodation.com has been launched by Africa Travel Emporium.
Speaking at the Lauching ceremony, The Director of Africa Travel Emporium , said that website will provide useful information about the Hotels in Kenya and Nairobi. This will boost the tourism potential of the true original and safari Country. Other related news, Hotel Faso Uganda has been added to the website collection of hotels in Uganda.

The first Africa Management Forum (AMF) kicked off at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel a Ugandan hotel at an event organized by Barclays Bank, Acclaim Africa, dfcu Group, British Council, Uganda telecom, New Vision Uganda Development Bank, MTN Uganda National Housing and Construction Company, Mukwano Group and Kenya Airways.
Several managers like chief executive officers and civil servants attended the function.
Finance Minister Dr Ezra Suruma, said “the Government had implemented structural reforms that have addressed endemic problems, lifting the country from intensive care of international agencies.”This is through growth of sectors like the tourism industry in Uganda.
The forum was meant to promote exchange of enterprise and bureaucratic experiences.
In a speech read by Mwesigwa Rukutana, the state minister for finance, Uganda as an economy no longer in the profound distress unit of the Bretton Woods institutions poises for notable economic progression as investment grows and economic alteration rebounds leading to crucial growth in the gross national product.

The East African Community has finished designing new hotel standards.
This was revealed while opening a workshop in Hotel Africana, one of Uganda hotels,
The secretary general Amanya Mushega said “the new standards where awaiting printing and distribution.
“This is in order to enhance hotel standards, growth,facilities and comfort in Ugandan hotels,inorder to provide a wide range of facilities and to enhance tourism in Uganda.”said the manager Africa travel Emporium.
